Mark Orchard is a happy man who loves Christmas. He has spent many years planting over 25,000 Christmas Trees in his nursery at St Tudy and expanding his shop selling all kinds of Christmas decorations.

This year is very special as Mark has bought 6 acres from St Tudy resident, Mrs Caroline Lyle who has lived in the village for 40 years.

This will mean Mark can now plant another 20,000 Christmas trees to supplement his existing plantation which is growing in popularity.

Mark explained:

“Christmas starts early at Cedar Croft with families and businesses choosing their trees from October. They come and chose their perfect tree, reserve it and then come and collect it so it is fresh for the start of their festive season. With the increase in demand, I need to replant 5 -6 years ahead in order to grow a robust, quality tree.  My new field enables me to increase my trees and I can start early in 2017, so my trees will be ready from 2022!!”
